Islamabad – July 2025: The Government of Pakistan has announced a new phase of the Laptop Scheme for students who passed their 10th class (matric) examinations. The initiative is aimed at promoting digital learning and encouraging academic excellence among the youth, especially those belonging to public sector schools and underprivileged families.
According to official sources, the scheme is set to launch in the second half of 2025 and will target students who passed their matric exams in 2024 and 2025 with high marks.
Officials confirmed that the scheme will be implemented in coordination with provincial education departments, and a merit-based distribution will take place in selected districts. The scheme is expected to benefit thousands of deserving students who are now enrolled in intermediate classes.

Each laptop will come preloaded with essential academic software and internet access options, aimed at supporting online education and digital assignments.
Provinces Taking the Lead
The Punjab Government is expected to launch a separate Chief Minister Laptop Scheme focused on top scorers from public schools. Similarly, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh are drafting their own plans under provincial digital education initiatives. In Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan, laptop distribution will be carried out in selected schools on a pilot basis.
How to Apply
The application process will be conducted entirely online through a centralized portal to be announced by the government. Students will be required to submit their matric result details, school name, and personal credentials.
